FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE PTY LTD is a business in the Hospitality / Tourism industry that provides accommodation services.

Delivery Policy

Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 14 days and bookings confirmed by way of booking number via email.

Refunds Policy

The provision of services by FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE is subject to availability. In cases of unavailability, FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE will refund the client in full within 30 days. Cancellation of bookings by the client will attract a 10% administration fee. Find out more about our cancellation policy below.

Customer Privacy Policy

FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from www.polity.org.za.

Payment Options Accepted

Payment may be made via Visa, MasterCard or bank transfer into the FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE bank account, the details of which will be provided on request.

Card Acquiring And Security

Some card transactions will be acquired for FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. DPO PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Other card transactions will be processed for FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE via PayBridge which is part of Logos, Ethos & Pathos Consulting (Pty) Ltd – trading as NightsBridge which is an approved payment gateway in South Africa. PayBridge also uses the strictest form of SSL3 encryption, and no Card details are stored on their website. The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. The transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

Service Agreement

Reservation and Cancellation Policies

These Terms and Conditions are applicable to all room reservations made at FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE and are binding the person making the booking upon confirmation of the reservation by payment of the specified deposit. Only legitimate reservations should be made only by you and/or your invited guests and/or for others on whose behalf you are authorized to act, including without limitation, reselling, assigning or posting on third party websites, or making speculative, false or fraudulent reservations, or any reservation in anticipation of demand.  Our Company reserves the right to cancel or modify reservations for any reason, including where we suspect that a guest is involved in a fraudulent or inappropriate activity or under other circumstances where we suspect that the reservations contain or resulted from a mistake or error, even if such mistake or error is ours. To dispute the cancellation of the booking please contact us via email.

Right of Admission

FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE reserves the right to object to the employment by the customer and guests of any person in connection with any booking. The Guesthouse has the full right of admission to the premises. No animals of any kind are allowed on the premises unless officially certified as Service animals.

Reservation Policy

Upon the date of reservation hereof, the booking shall be considered provisional for a maximum period of 48 hours. To confirm a booking the following payment term must be adhered to.

Deposit Payments

  • Within 24 hours days of booking, the Guesthouse requires a 50% deposit to confirm and secure the booking. Should the 50% deposit not be received, the Guesthouse reserves the right to continue quoting on the requested dates.
  • All payments must be made in the applicable currency directly to FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE. Kindly consider currency fluctuations when making payments via bank transfers.
  • Please note that we don’t accept full payments made via bank transfers for private reservations less than 2 working days from the arrival date. Therefore, we require private reservations to pay the balance of the outstanding 50% of their booking via a credit or debit card at our premises.
  • For security reasons, we only accept proof of bank transfer payments sent directly by the bank. Hence, photocopies and mobile app screenshots are not acceptable forms of proof of payment.
  • Please ensure to send the proof of bank transfers to the email address provided in your quotation.

Refundable Deposit

We require group reservations to pay a refundable cash deposit on arrival at our Guesthouse.

  • The purpose of the refundable cash deposit is to cover any damages that may arise during a group’s stay.
  • The amount of the cash deposit will be determined considering the size of the group on a case-to-case basis.
  • If there were no damages and therefore no additional cost to cover, the cash deposit will be fully refunded.

Our normal office opening hours for reservations are as follows:

Monday – Friday: 07:00 AM – 18:00 PM
Saturday – Sunday: 07:00 AM – 18:00 PM
Public Holidays: 07:00 AM – 18:00 PM

Same Day Reservation

  • Online reservations for the same day can be made between the hours of 00:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
  • Telephonic and email reservations for the same day can be made between the hours of 06:00 AM and 06:00 PM.
  • Unfortunately, we don’t take ‘walk-in reservations’, because we require a deposit payment to secure all our bookings.

Next-Day & Future Date Reservations

  • Online reservations for the following day or for a future date can be made 24 hours every day without any restrictions.
  • Email reservations for the following day or for a future date can also be made 24 hours a day without any restrictions. However, a response to your enquiry should only be expected during our office opening hours.
  • Telephonic reservations for the following day or for a future date can be made during our normal office opening hours.

Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability on a relevant day and must be arranged in advance within a reasonable time frame. Additional fees may apply.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the Guesthouse

We reserve the right to cancel any bookings forthwith and without liability on its part in the event of damage or destruction of the allocated rooms or venue by fire or cause, any shortage of labour or food supplies, strikes, lockouts or industrial unrest, or any other cause beyond the control of our Company, which shall prevent it from performing its obligations in connection with any booking. Subject to the circumstances, an asserted but reasonable effort will be made to persist with accommodating the reservation.

Flexible Cancellation Policy

We implemented this flexible cancellation policy to help you commit easier to making a reservation at our Guesthouse. After all, it is hard enough to make financial decisions during today’s uncertain economy.
As per our booking policy, a 50% deposit will be required to secure all bookings.

  • Forfeit 100 % of the Total if the guest cancels 7 days before arrival.
  • Forfeit 100% of the Deposit if the guest cancels 14 days before arrival.
  • Forfeit 50% of the Deposit if the guest cancels 21 days before arrival.
  • Forfeit 25% of the Deposit if the guest cancels 30 days before arrival.

Shuttle Service Terms and Conditions

On request, we do offer a shuttle service to our guests for a surcharge within the borders of Durban.  Although we do some of these transfers, we also use third-party shuttle companies. The drivers of these companies are all certified, metered taxi drivers. Also, these vehicles and their drivers all get inspected by our Management to ensure a high-quality standard of service during your trip.

We do most of the local shuttle service requests within Durban.  However, for transfers further than the borders of Hillcrest, like King Shaka International Airport collections, we might outsource third-party shuttle companies. And most of these companies have very strict cancellation policies. Therefore, any booked and confirmed shuttle service, that wasn’t cancelled at least 2 hours prior to collection time, or missed for any reason, will be liable to pay 50% of the shuttle tariff as a cancellation fee. Such fees will be due for payment on arrival at our Guesthouse.

Any guest choosing to use a shuttle service arranged by FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE acknowledges the following:

  • You agree that FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE or any of their Staff members shall NOT be liable for any loss, damage or injury or illness of any kind arising from the use of such shuttle service.
  • You agree to indemnify FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE and all of their staff members from any loss, damage or injury that might arise from any loss or injury suffered by you arising from or incidental to the use of this shuttle service.
  • You acknowledge that the use of this shuttle service is entirely voluntary, and you accept all risks involved therein.

Children’s Policy

Children of all ages are welcome. FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE is not responsible for any harm or injuries of any sort that may come to children whilst on the Guesthouse premises. It is the responsibility of parents to ensure the safety and appropriate behaviour of their children in the Guesthouse, and FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE Staff are not responsible for the supervision of children left unattended by their parents.

  • Children under the age of 3 can stay in the Guesthouse for no extra charge. They are not considered an adult from the accommodation point of view.
  • Children between the ages of 3 – 11 can stay at the Guesthouse for an additional charge of R250.00 per night.
  • Two children between the ages of 3 – 12, sharing the same room, can stay at the Guesthouse for the normal “Sharing rate” per night of the room type.
  • Children over the age of 11 are considered adults and will be charged the full rate for their stay.

 

Condition of Service

Right of Admission

FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE reserves the right to object to the employment by the customer and guests of any person in connection with any booking. The Guesthouse has the full right of admission to the premises. No animals of any kind are allowed on the premises unless officially certified as Service animals.

Indemnity

FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE is not responsible for loss or damage to property of any visitor brought upon the premises, arising from fire, theft or otherwise, by whomsoever caused or arising from negligence or wrongful act of any person in the employ of the proprietors. All visitors whether or not they occupy rooms are deemed to contract with the proprietors on this basis. The Guest acknowledges that any such belongings, e.g., equipment, furniture, stock, or other property of any sort, will remain under the control and care of the Guest and that the Guest is in the best position to ensure such property and accordingly it is reasonable for the Guest to indemnify the Guesthouse of liability for such belongings.

Liability

It is your responsibility as a guest to familiarize yourself and comply with our conditions of service and our house rules during your stay.

You are also personally liable for your accounts. Therefore, you are responsible for any charges that may arise during your stay. In the case of a group reservation, the guest who made the reservation will be personally liable for any outstanding payments within their group or Company.

Due Care

The Guest is responsible for any loss or damages to the Guesthouse’s property and shall pay the amount due on receipt of a written request. The Guest shall ensure that their stay is conducted in an orderly fashion without causing a nuisance and in full compliance with the directives and requirements of the Guesthouse and with all applicable laws, ordinances and regulations.

Visitors’ Policy

You are allowed to have visitors during your stay under the following conditions:

  • You can’t invite visitors to our premises without our knowledge.
  • You can’t have more than four visitors at a time.
  • Your visitors can’t stay longer than 3 hours during the day.
  • Your visitors should leave the Guesthouse by 8:00 PM.
  • You will be responsible for seeing your visitors off the premises.
  • Your visitors can’t arrive or stay on the premises without you.
  • Any visitors staying longer than 3 hours in your room or leaving after 8:00 PM will be considered as “Sleep-over guests”.
  • If we deem your visitors to be “Sleep-over guests”, you’ll be liable for an additional charge for their stay as per our sharing room rates.
  • You can’t invite visitors to our premises with the intent of having a party.
  • Visitors are not permitted to use our swimming pool facilities.

WhatsApp as a form of communication

As part of our effort to provide you with the best possible service during your stay, we will convey various information via WhatsApp (or SMS messages).

Although it’s not a requirement, it enables us to deliver an enhanced travel experience to you. Therefore, if you choose our services, you automatically agree to be contacted via the previously mentioned channels by our staff members.

If you choose to opt-out of this form of communication, we will respect and honour your choice.  However, we won’t guarantee the same standard of service as provided to our other guests.

Smoking Policy

For safety, and health reasons and to ensure that our facilities are not exposed to items or actions that create an objectionable odour to other guests of ours and is difficult to eliminate from the fittings and furniture, we do not permit smoking tobacco products of any kind in our facilities, unless it is done so at the designated areas of the building. As stipulated by law, smoking is only permitted in these designated smoking areas within the building. It is the guest’s responsibility to ensure that they comply with smoking laws, and we reserve the right to take legal action against transgressors.

Food and Beverage Policy

The Company does not allow food or beverage items to be brought onto the premises without prior arrangement with the Management.  FEVER TREE GUESTHOUSE reserves the right to charge an additional ‘Corkage fee’ for beverages brought on the property. We reserve the right to refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any person under the age of 18, in accordance with the National Liquor Act 59 of 2003.
